【摘要】:TheCalculatedCetaneIndexbyFourVariableEquationisusefulforestimatingASTMcetanenumberwhenatestengineisnotavailablefordeterminingthispropertydirectlyandwhencetaneimproverisnotused.Itmaybeconvenientlyemployedforestimatingcetanenumberwhenthequantityofsampleavailableistoosmallforanenginerating.IncaseswheretheASTMcetanenumberofafuelhasbeenpreviouslyestablished,theCalculatedCetaneIndexbyFourVariableEquationisusefulasacetanenumbercheckonsubsequentbatchesofthatfuel,providedthefuel''ssourceandmodeofmanufactureremainunchanged.Note28212;TestMethodsD6890andD7170maybeusedtoobtainaDerivedCetaneNumber(DCN)whenthequantityofsampleistoosmallforanenginetest.Thesemethodsdomeasuretheeffectofcetaneimprover.Withintherangefrom32.5to56.5cetanenumber,theexpectederrorofpredictionofProcedureAoftheCalculatedCetaneIndexbyFourVariableEquationwillbelessthanx00B1;2cetanenumbersfor65%ofthedistillatefuelsevaluated.Errorsmaybegreaterforfuelswhosepropertiesfalloutsidetherecommendedrangeofapplication.1.1ThecalculatedCetaneIndexbyFourVariableEquationprovidesameansforestimatingtheASTMcetanenumber(TestMethodD613)ofdistillatefuelsfromdensityanddistillationrecoverytemperaturemeasurements.ThevaluecomputedfromtheequationistermedtheCalculatedCetaneIndexbyFourVariableEquation.1.2TheCalculatedCetaneIndexbyFourVariableEquationisnotanoptionalmethodforexpressingASTMcetanenumber.ItisasupplementarytoolforestimatingcetanenumberwhenaresultbyTestMethodD613isnotavailableandifcetaneimproverisnotused.Asasupplementarytool,theCalculatedCetaneIndexbyFourVariableequationmustbeusedwithdueregardforitslimitations.1.3ProcedureAistobeusedforSpecificationD975,GradesNo.1x2013;DS15,No.1x2013;DS500,No.1x2013;DS5000,No.2x2013;DS15,No.2x2013;DS5000,andNo.4x2013;D.ThismethodforestimatingcetanenumberwasdevelopedbyChevronResearchCo.ProcedureAisbasedonadatasetincludingarelativelysmallnumberofNo.1x2013;Dfuels.TestMethodD4737ProcedureAmaybelessapplicabletoNo.1x2013;DS15,No.1x2013;DS500,andNo.1x2013;DS5000thantoNo.2x2013;DgradeS5000ortoNo.4x2013;Dfuels.1.3.1ProcedureAhasbeenverifiedasapplicabletoGradeNo.2x2013;DS15dieselfuels.1.4ProcedureBistobeusedforSpecificationD975,GradeNo.2x2013;DS500.1.5Thetestmethodx201C;CalculatedCetaneIndexbyFourVariableEquationx201D;isparticula......
