【摘要】:Predictingtheviscosityofablendofcomponentsisacommonproblem.BoththeWrightBlendingMethodandtheASTMBlendingMethod,describedinthispractice,maybeusedtosolvethisproblem.Theinverseproblem,predicatingtherequiredblendfractionsofcomponentstomeetaspecifiedviscosityatagiventemperaturemayalsobesolvedusingeithertheInverseWrightBlendingMethodortheInverseASTMBlendingMethod.TheWrightBlendingMethodsaregenerallypreferredsincetheyhaveafirmerbasisintheory,andaremoreaccurate.TheWrightBlendingMethodsrequirecomponentviscositiestobeknownattwotemperatures.TheASTMBlendingMethodsaremathematicallysimplerandmaybeusedwhenviscositiesareknownatasingletemperature.Althoughthispracticewasdevelopedusingkinematicviscosityandvolumefractionofeachcomponent,thedynamicviscosityormassfraction,orboth,maybeusedinsteadwithminimalerrorifthedensitiesofthecomponentsdonotdiffergreatly.Forfuelblends,itwasfoundthatviscosityblendingusingmassfractionsgavemoreaccurateresults.Forbasestockblends,therewasnosignificantdifferencebetweenmassfractionandvolumefractioncalculations.Thecalculationsdescribedinthispracticehavebeencomputerizedasaspreadsheetandareavailableasanadjunct.31.1Thispracticecoverstheproceduresforcalculatingtheestimatedkinematicviscosityofablendoftwoormorepetroleumproducts,suchaslubricatingoilbasestocks,fuelcomponents,residuawithkerosine,crudeoils,andrelatedproducts,fromtheirkinematicviscositiesandblendfractions.1.2Thispracticeallowsfortheestimationofthefractionofeachoftwopetroleumproductsneededtoprepareablendmeetingaspecificviscosity.1.3Thispracticemaynotbeapplicabletoothertypesofproducts,ortomaterialswhichexhibitstrongnon-Newtonianproperties,suchasviscosityindeximprovers,additivepackages,andproductscontainingparticulates.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoregardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Logarithmsmaybeeithercommonlogarithmsornaturallogarithms,aslongasthesameareusedconsistently.Thispracticeusescommonlogarithms.Ifnaturallogarithmsareused,theinversefunction,exp(),mustbeusedinplaceofthebase10exponentialfunction,10,usedherein.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
